Update about class gathering!! I was half happy and disappointed with the outcome; I'm happy because those who bothered to turn up had a great time and disappointed at those who didn't even bother to say they weren't coming. I rented a Honda Fit 2004 and it turned out to be half a half. Performance wise was great in terms of fuel consumption. I think if I had gotten my usual Lancer, we would have drank a whole lot more petrol. BUT, the brakes and transmission was extremely horrible. The brakes were obviously not serviced, and the clutch kept over clutching at gear 2 so the car kept shuddering every time I moved off. Anyway, I think I can forgive all that with the huge boot it had. The back seats could be moved down and a huge boot appeared.Picked up Hanafie, Lydia and Nadzirah before scooting off to Ms Lim's place. Pei Ying woke up late so she came on her own. Nathan is learning how to crawl and Hanafie is learning how not to be shy with people's babies. Exchanged gossip and small talk till about 6 before we headed down to East Coast to meet the rest. Picked up Chor at his place, and then after Mac, went to Roxy Square to pick up Kiff and Jun Jie.
As it turned out, the car was just large enough to fit 7 people. Illegally. There was me driving, Chor next to me, and squashed at the back were a mad gang of young adults: Kiff, Hanafie, Jun Jie, Lydia, Pei Ying.
If you're imagining what I think you're imagining, then you're right. The whole car was a racket with music booming and Kiff and Lydia going at each other like retards. The rest of us just kept making stupid jokes and laughing at ourselves. Kiff kept waving at people when we were are traffic lights, and he kept making the car rock in every direction. Chor poked me and asked if there was an off button to this out-of-service toy. I said no. Then he asked if he could take out the batteries. Unfortunately that was a no too.
Everyone had a great time till late at night. We dropped of Lydia at 11, then Jun Jie at 1. Headed down to Sin Ming to munch on roti prata then sent Pei Ying and Kiff back home.
Me, Fie and Chor went down to Geylang to oggle at the girls before proceeding to Kallang for lessons and warm up for Fie and Chor respectively. Then Chor underestimated the length of the car and the bonnet hit the kerb. Damages turned out to be $40.
Anyway, to all of you who chipped in to feed the car, thanks alot!!! It turned out that we pumped a little more fuel than needed. But I appreciate it anyhow.
Hopefully we can do something like this again for Teacher's Day....hahaha..
